Expression of Interest: Te Marautanga o Aotearoa NCEA Level 1 wāhanga ako

Ngā wāhanga ako o Te Marautanga o Aotearoa (TMoA) i te Kaupae 1 o te NCEA

Tēnei te whakatenatena nei i ngā kura e hiahia ana ki te whakamātau i ngā wāhanga ako o Te Marautanga o Aotearoa (TMoA) i te Kaupae 1 o te NCEA ā te 2022 kia tuku mai i ā koutou puka Whakapuaki i te Hiahia Whai Wāhi Mai.  

E taea ana te puka Whakapuaki i te Hiahia Whai Wāhi Mai (arā, te EOI) te whakakī mā runga i tēnei hononga mai i te 5 o Hōngongoi 2021 ki te 22 o Hereturikōkā 2021.

Kei te kura te tikanga ina whakamātauria e ia te wāhanga ako kotahi, ngā wāhanga ako e rua, e toru kē rānei. 

Me mātua whakamātau e te kura ngā rauemi katoa kua waihangatia, arā, te Tukutuku Ako, te Tukutuku Aromatawai, me ngā Paerewa Paetae e whā, mai i te 1.1 ki te 1.4 o te/ngā wāhanga ako ka kōwhiria hei whakamātau māna, tae atu ki ngā Ngohe Aromatawai me ngā Aratohu Whakaako, Ako, Aromatawai.

E uru ai tētahi kura ki ngā mahi whakamātau nei, me mātua eke i a rātou ēnei āhuatanga:

•    kei te whakaako, kei te aromatawai hoki i ngā wāhanga ako i tēnei wā, ka mutu, kua whakaako i ēnei wāhanga ako mō ētahi tau nei 
•    kei te kawe ake i ngā mahi mātairua i tēnei wā, ā, kua āhua roa e kawe ana i ngā mahi mātairua 

I te Kupu Whakapuaki i te Hiahia Whai Wāhi Mai, me tohu mai anō te kura mehemea: 

•    kei te whakatū whakamātautau ā-waho rātou ki tō rātou kura 
•    kei a rātou te raukaha me ngā pūkenga ki te whakahaere whakamātautau tuihono 

Kāore ngā whakautu ki ngā pātai o runga tonu ake nei e whakararu i te tūpono tū o tō kura hei kura whakamātau.

•    Pūtaiao
•    Hangarau

Me mātua whakamātau hoki te katoa o ngā paerewa paetae 1.1 – 1.4 o te/ngā wāhanga ako ka kōwhiria e rātou hei whakamātau.

Te Marautanga o Aotearoa (TMoA) NCEA Level 1 wāhanga ako

We’d like to encourage kura that wish to pilot Te Marautanga o Aotearoa (TMoA) NCEA Level 1 wāhanga ako in 2022 to submit an Expression of Interest form.

An Expression of Interest form (EOI) can be completed at this link between 5 July 2021 and 22 August 2021.

Please note that kura can select up to a maximum of three (3) wāhanga ako to pilot.

Pilot kura are required to pilot the full suite of products that has been developed which includes the Tukutuku Ako, Tukutuku Aromatawai, all four Paerewa Paetae from 1.1 – 1.4 of wāhanga ako you choose to pilot, the associated Ngohe Aromatawai, and Teaching, Learning and Assessment guide.

Upon submitting your application, we will send you a letter of support for your Tumuaki to complete to endorse the application.

For those that are keen on piloting The New Zealand Curriculum subjects including Te Reo Māori and Te Ao Haka, the Expressions of Interest process will begin on 2 August 2021. Don’t worry – we will have one selection process to ensure you don’t miss out on those opportunities if you were to apply to take part in the TMoA Level 1 pilot.

Which kura/schools can apply

To be a pilot kura/school, they must:

•    currently teach and assess the wāhanga ako and have taught them for a few years
•    have current engagement with moderation, and have a proven moderation history

In their Expression of Interest, a kura/school must also indicate whether they:

•    currently host external examinations
•    have the capacity and capability to offer online examinations

Your answers to these questions will not affect the chances of your kura becoming a pilot kura.

What will be piloted

A pilot kura/school can pilot up to three wāhanga ako:

•    Pāngarau
•    Te Reo Rangatira
•    Hauora
•    Tikanga ā-Iwi
•    Ngā Toi
     o    In addition, a pilot school/kura can choose up to three pou: Toi Puoro, Ngā Mahi a te Rēhia, Toi Ataata
•    Pūtaiao
•    Hangarau

They will also be required to pilot the full suite of Paerewa Paetae from 1.1 – 1.4 of the wàhanga ako they choose to pilot.
