Reviewed NZC & TMoA Achievement Standards and assessment materials published for 2026

On each subject page, use the Recent Changes button to see a summary of updates.

A number of standards and supporting materials have been updated for 2026. These updates are a result of the annual NCEA review and maintenance programme (RAMP). This year’s RAMP updates affect a number of New Zealand Curriculum (NZC) and Te Marautanga o Aotearoa (TMoA) subjects across NCEA Levels 1, 2, and 3.

Teachers and other NCEA providers must ensure that the revised standards and supporting materials are used for assessment in 2026.

There are no changes to the competencies being assessed by the Achievement Standards. Most of the updates are very minor and have been made to improve clarity and interpretation. It is important to note that the Conditions of Assessment have been updated for all internal assessments | aromatawai ā-roto to provide clearer guidance around authenticity.  

All affected Achievement Standards and supporting materials were made available as PDFs for planning purposes on the NCEA website in September 2025. These PDFs have now been removed and materials on the relevant subject pages have been updated for use in 2026.   • Level 1-3 Te Ao Haka: 2026 updates are available on the relevant Te Ao Haka subject pages on the NCEA website. Video resources will be available on the website in Term 2 to support the Te Ao Haka changes. A summary of changes made is available in the Recent Changes section of the Te Ao Haka subject page and each TAH achievement standard.
  • Te Reo Matatini and Pāngarau Unit Standards have been updated for clarity and the NCEA website has been updated with links to the latest versions.  
  • All PDFs for planning purposes have now been removed from the NCEA.Ed website.
