A series of subject workshops starts next week to help kaiako become familiar with new Level 1 NCEA materials. These workshops focus on New Zealand Curriculum subjects only.
The online workshops will be led predominantly by our NCEA Implementation Facilitators. Each session aims to increase kaiako and middle-leader confidence towards developing cohesive and inclusive 2024 Level 1 teaching and learning programmes. They will include:
-
an overview of the NCEA changes
-
a focus on learning matrices
-
an introduction to resources available on this website.
Getting ready for implementation - who should attend?
These online workshops are aimed at supporting kaiako and middle-leaders who have limited connection with NCEA Change materials. However, any kaiako or leader is welcome to attend. The information presented and discussed is relevant for all kaiako of the respective subjects, as we approach 2024.
Workshop dates for each subject are listed in the table below. A registration form needs to be completed before attending individual sessions. To sign up for one, or multiple of the workshops, click the appropriate links in the table below and submit your form. You will be forwarded the Microsoft Teams meeting to the email address you use in your form.
In some cases, multiple workshops will be offered for the same subject, with an individual workshop for each takiwā – Te Tai Raro (North), Te Tai Whenua (Central), and Te Tai Runga (South). We encourage you to attend the workshop for the takiwā in which your school sits, however if you can’t make that date, feel free to register for one in another takiwā.
There are a small number of workshop that have dates and/or times that are yet to be confirmed. This page will be kept up-to-date with added details as they are confirmed.
If you have any questions about the subject support workshops, send us an email at NCEA.Review@education.govt.nz
