We have released a range of materials on the new NCEA Te Reo Matatini me te Pāngarau | Literacy and Numeracy corequisites.
The materials include the transition arrangements for 2023, which will be a crucial year for schools and kura as they prepare for the mandatory introduction of the new NCEA corequisites in 2024.
Schools and kura can also use the materials when they prepare their learners for future assessments.
In 2023, schools and kura with consent to assess can opt-in to use the new NCEA Te Reo Matatini me te Pāngarau | Literacy and Numeracy standards.
As part of the NCEA Change Programme, a multi-year programme to make NCEA a more robust and inclusive qualification, new standards that will directly assess Te Reo Matatini me te Pāngarau | Literacy and Numeracy have been created as corequisites to NCEA. These standards are set to become mandatory from 2024.
