Resources to Support Literacy and Numeracy | Te Reo Matatini me te Pāngarau

Ko te tauira reo Pākehā kē tēnei o te whārangi nei, i te korenga o tētahi tauira reo Māori.

Changes are happening to the way NCEA recognises literacy and numeracy | te reo matatini me te pāngarau. From 2024, students will need to achieve new corequisite standards to the qualification. Next year, students who are ready can be assessed against the new standards but they will not be mandatory. The resources on this page will support schools and kura to prepare for the implementation of the corequisite.

Literacy and Numeracy Pedagogy Guides

The Pedagogy Guides are a set of guides that elaborate on the Unpacking Literacy and Unpacking Numeracy documents in specific learning areas. These may be useful when considering how you can weave literacy and numeracy into your classroom. Literacy and Numeracy Pedagogy Guides for all learning areas are being developed throughout 2022 and 2023.

Literacy and Numeracy Enhanced Plans

The Numeracy Enhanced Plans look at a sequence of activities that are part of a teaching and learning programme. They highlight the numeracy opportunities within the activities and provides ways in which you can make numeracy explicit for ākonga.

Literacy Enhanced Plans will be released in the coming months.
